About Us
Double R’s Hill Farm Mountain Horses is located in Conway, Arkansas, approximately 30 miles outside of Little Rock. We began our adventure with Rocky Mountain horses in 2004 with the purchase of our first mare, Fry’s Dakota Smith, which we call “Hope”. We wanted gaited horses for pleasure riding, and also wanted a breed that was generally known to have a calm nature, not to mention some fantastic color’s.
Since our purchase of Hope, we have “collected” an additional nine Rocky Mountain and/or Kentucky Mountain Saddle horses and have not only enjoyed trail riding and sport horse eventing, but have been actively showing with, United Mountain Horses, Inc., (UMH) since 2005. We have learned a great deal since buying our first Rocky, and have made a lot of terrific friends along the way. You might say that the horses completely changed our lives, as we are continuously busy with them even though we both work outside of the home full time.
We have traveled over the last two years throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky showing and trail riding our mountain horses, and seem to always make new friends along the way. We hope to continue our success both in and out of the show arena, and continue to learn and promote the breed we have grown to love. We occasionally have trail broke and show ready horses for sale, in addition to having one or two weanlings or yearlings available to good homes.
